So I was yet again wrong about the Rangers winning in Game 6. I feel bad for them. The Cards did impress me in Game 6. But as an underdog fan, I wanted the Texas Rangers to win their first ever WS. It sucks to lose twice in a row when they made it all the way once again. It's not gonna happen again next year, is it? We'll see. Well that's it folks! No more baseball until SPRING TRAINING! I'm sad to not see a game on...but it's a win when the Philthies and Skankees don't win. Anyway, that's it until there are news about the Winter Meetings and trades, etc.

Rangers vs. Cards World Series
So I was completely wrong about the Tigers and Brewers reaching the WS. I shall predict that the Rangers will win it in Game 6! I want them to win it cuz those Cards...they really did hurt the Mets chances in 2006. I think the teams are definitely deserving of getting to the WS. It's great that the TX Rangers were here back to back years. It's something so hard to accomplish. Now it's their turn to win it. I can't really say who the underdog team is, but I suppose it's the Cards? But then again, they have home field advantage... Either way, the Mets are not in it, and baseball doesn't mean much now until next spring.

Back to Back WINS, for a Mets Fan!
I didn't watch yesterday night's Yankees vs. Tigers Game 5, but I did have GameDay on. I couldn't watch the screen when it was bases loaded...BUT, in the last minutes, I had to. I had to see the reactions and the last out. It was AROD! The other day when I was in a car, I remember the sports radio being on, and they were talking about how everything boils down to AROD being the blame for everything when the YANKS fail! They did and they were left speechless AT home. I credit ANY team that defeats the Yanks because apparently everyone else is an underdog. I slept great, woke up today and anticipated tonight...I didn't really care about the Brewers or DBacks, but I had predicted the Brewers to make the WS. So I really couldn't tell if the Cards were in it to beat the Phils. BUT they DID!!!! The game was on and I watch it in its entirety, well, I had it on, while I was studying for the GMAT. It's amazing that these games all reached Game 5. It means that all these teams deserve to be in the postseason, I'll give them that much. I find it FUNNY that the Phils with 4 Aces, cannot make it passed the 1st round! :) Knocking out the Yanks and the Phils ARE the best presents for a Mets fan. The final matchups are Brewers vs Cards; and Rangers vs. Tigers! I look forward to not having a heartache whoever wins the WS. But as I predict, it shall be a Brewers vs Tigers World Series. For some reason, I think the Brewers will win. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter to me. I can enjoy baseball for the sport that it is and not be anxious that a rival would potentially win. Good Night!

It Shall Be a Tigers vs Brewers World Series
I'd like to see either one of these teams win it. Why? Tigers are like the biggest surprise for me...No one would predict it but Michigan fans have faith. Why the Brewers? Cuz I've visited Milwaukee this year and every year, it seems like the baseball team wins/goes to the postseason when I visit...Last year SF won and I went there. So it will only make sense that Milwaukee gets to the WS! Anyway, I'm so disgusted with the Phillies, the Yanks, even the Red Sox...I wouldn't wanna see any of those teams get passed the first round. Why? Who cares about them breaking a curse, the other redeeming their so called darn dynasty, or philthying their way to the WS. Those three teams are so overrated and I think the rest of MLB...27 teams just want to win unpredictably. If the Rays end up in the postseason, I'd like to see them win...So yea, this comes from a Mets fan. So you'll understand my frustration. :)

It's Over , But In Our Hearts, We Don't Want It To Be
Since Murphy & Reyes got placed in the DL, all hell has broke loose and there's not a chance at all for the Mets to make the postseason. You have to really be delusional to think that all the wild card teams ahead of the Mets will lose at the same time and the Mets will go on a 20 game winning streak. If that happens, I'm probably the biggest doubter in my Mets. Face it fans, revamp and you'll get a good team in a few years...I think we have the right manager...we just need a consistent bullpen, starting pitcher and work on our lineup...I think the infield and outfield are all very talented and will only get better...but you have to have good pitching to win ballgames. Today's rally was really impressive especially down 7-1, but our pitching at the end, lost it for us. Every game counts and having a 2 run lead, with 3 outs to win...that shouldn't be hard. I mean if you give have the bases loaded, then you're in trouble. What hurts is that K-Rod, a Brewer now...got the win. This really spells the end for the Mets. No one cares to watch anymore. They stopped believing when Reyes was hurt. This year is supposed to be the year that we turn things around, I mean injuries are bound to happen, whether short term or long term. But they had the players. Look what happened this year: Beltran traded, K-Rod traded, we lose Ike & Murphy to the DL, Reyes proved himself to be superb...though he's now on the DL...Wright was out for awhile. I think the bullpen needs an upgrade and we need to get rid of Pelfrey. Pelfrey was the second best pitcher behind Santana (in my opinion), but this year, he just sucked and never found his old self. I'm disappointed because I really think he could have turned things around. I look forward to see what will happen in the offseason. I want to believe in this team and be excited for them. I really do, but it's been a long 5 years since the Mets had a good year. It's time that I focus on my Jets. :)

Throwing In The Towel After Murphy's Incident
My heart for the Mets collapsed when I heard that Daniel Murphy was OUT for the rest of the season. A thump in my heart and I felt it. I threw in the towel and said...the SEASON is OVER. Reyes got hurt and he'll be out again. If he was the one out for the rest of the season, it'd be automatically over...but there's still hope that he'd return soon. What hope is there left? Tonight, I saw a glimmer of hope, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Mets won in dramatic fashion as they beat the Padres, 9-8. Down 4 runs in the bottom of the8th...they scored 2runs, then bottom of the 9th, 3 more runs score, and they win it. They fought and hit. If I turned off the tv because I didn't believe 4+ runs would score in the 8th and 9th, then I'm not a believer. I patiently waited...the hits kept coming and the runs piled on. I still may think the season is lost and gone, but every win counts. I think the more they work together, the better the team will be in the upcoming years. But they have to have that team dynamic to win and I saw it tonight. I hope that the Mets give it all for the rest of this season and that they give the wild card teams a run for their money. LOL. I'd like to see the Mets eliminate other teams by simply winning. I'd be flabbergasted if they win the Wild Card. It's a stretch, but they'd have to really go on a win streak, ASAP. :)

Welcome Back, David Wright!
Earlier this week, I've gotten the chance to witness Jose Reyes return to the team on his first game back and I've gotten to witness Angel Pagan's FIRST walkoff HR of his career. It is simply amazing to attend back to back games where my Mets won because they fought through the tough spots. Tonight, or much rather Friday night, David Wright returns to the team, in the Marlins game. The game was long and the score kept going back and forth, get a lead, get tied, get a lead, get tied...then finally, Pridie saves the day by catching a popup way deep in the outfield near the warning track wall and seals the game's 3rd out. Wright, can truly become powerful if he produces the hits we expect him to. We want Wright to be Beltran. We need him to hit the HRs and be that guy who leads the team into the postseason. I'm hesitant about trading any Met because if MONEY wasn't an issue, we'd wouldn't be so fast to give out the BIG GUYS that were BIG DEALS back in the day. We got rid of KROD, which I think was wrong because if he was great elsewhere, he can be great again. The fans trusted him to do the job. Sometimes, KROD did not produce the pitches BUT he still was "our closer." Only now, he's not. The fact that I don't trust the Mets BULLPEN, is reason to doubt the chance...I feel that if Beltran gets traded, the Mets need a reliable closer, someone that will close out games and is capable of pitching 2+ innings. Anywho, I'm glad that BOTH Reyes and Wright are back on the team and I wait so anxiously in regards to how they will be great as they were in 2006. I wanna see Triple Threat Reyes play with well rested David Wright. If Ike Davis is out for the season, I see the positives. Daniel Murphy surprises us with defense and offense. He is most definitely deserving of being the starting first baseman. I wanna see him hit more HRs than anyone on the team, like he did that one year...was it injury year? Anyheck, HRs are nice insurance run(s), and it would be ideal for the team to start hitting those. Anyways, the Mets are still in 3rd place, and could easily catch up to the Wild Card spot if they win more consecutively. :)

Midway Point
My Mets are playing .500 ball and they're 3rd place in the NL East. It's midway through the season and there's progress. I wonder if the Mets can pull this off and give us the fans, a postseason berth. I know it's a Mets' fan's dream come true to see them get IN. I know it's been a real tough 5 years since our last good* year. Everything I say on these blogs are in the moment emotions. Every time I read the previous entry, I always feel different in the current entry. You have to understand the rollercoaster rides that Mets fans go through. It's a tough ride but loyal and true fans ride it out. :)

Wowsers!
I am impressed this week with the Mets! Grand Slam drought OVER and they're piling up runs like there's no tomorrow! I really want them to continue this as long as they can possible. It's HUGE and I'm always wondering why the mediocre players make the team so good! It was like that last year before Beltran returned during the SF series in July. Forget about Wright and Davis. Right now, we have this hotness going on and I don't want it to go away. They're exploding right now, with hits and winning games. I'm grateful that the Mets are shocking fans and I want them to reach 2nd place by AllStar Break if that is not asking for too much. I remember how many times I've watched a bases loaded inning and no grand slams. But to have 2 in one night in back to back innings, it's just phenomenal. I'm glad it was Jason Bay who hit it because he still has to prove himself to the team, he has to prove that he can hit a 20 hr season. Cuz I haven't seen that Jason yet. But I'm glad he broke the streak. As for Beltran, good for him too. I'm most impressed with the 2nd Basemen, Tejada & Murphy. They're alternating roles are awesome and they've come up big lately. Turner, too. Everyone is contributing and I still can't believe how many runs they've put up in the last few games.:) Overall, the team is heading in the right direction if they keep it consistent.

Almost Midseason
Let's face reality: the Mets right now is a .500 team and if they get anywhere close to the Wild Card, they'd be a surprise to all. The team is mediocre and unpredictable. In years past, we'd have a surging win streak/lose streak and you'd be able to tell what kind of team you're expecting. This year, perhaps I want to be in denial. With injuries and an uncertain future for many of our players, it's very unsettling. I'm hoping that this team can show the fans why we should care. I mean imagine if Wright, Reyes, Beltran, Davis, Bay and Pagan were at their prime and they were unstoppable? If Dickey can be last year's Dickey. If Gee can continue his wins despite one loss. If Santana comes back...If Pelfrey could be what I remembered him to be, the almost Ace when Santana went on the DL. I mean Niese and Capuano can win sometimes, but it's the support of runs, and the defense. The Mets can be powerful and not the laughingstock. I truly believe that they are capable. I'm just wondering what the hell happened that made them not live up to the standards they have known? The players know very well what is expected of them. But why isn't this lineup working? You got rid of the cancerous Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo. They sure as hell contributed to the Mets losing ways, but look at the team now. Why? Lately, they've proved that they can hit. But the people that I least expect to fill those roles, are the people I give credit to. Jose Reyes is the only person that really shows that he wants to win and he plays hard. He is proving himself to be really valuable and an asset. Can we really backtrack and say we signed a bad contract in Jason Bay? He used to hit more homers and he hasn't done much for us. Perhaps we should trade for a new lineup, and just keep Jose. I don't know if talent on the team means much when the talent is not showcased. When and if the Mets ever get 10 games over .500, I'll believe in miracles. They're playing average baseball and they should be better than this. But I'll take their wins and appreciate when they make me smile. But it's almost midseason...it's time to really make these games count. Every one of them. :)

State of the Mets
I'm not nearly as frustrated as I was at the start of the season when the Mets were in last place. The past few weeks, the Mets really did put up a lot of runs and are doing decently winning games. I'm not totally convinced that they're gonna pull out all the stops to at least second place...why? They're missing Ike Davis, David Wright and a dependable bullpen. I wonder how is it that when Ike & David go on the DL, that the replacements do a good job and when Ike & David return to the lineup, everyone else stinks and they go on their dry spells? Whatever it is. The team has to fix it. I do believe that someone has to go in the starting lineup. If they're all healthy, but they're not hitting, why? It makes no sense that they all do poorly at the same time. Look at Reyes now. He's so on a hot streak and any team would be lucky to have him if the Mets can't keep him. I'd be really upset because he sparks every time he hits, triples, steals bases and inspires the other players. Ok, a lot of times, the bullpen ruins a great pitching game. I just wonder what would it take for the Mets to make it back to the playoffs. The Mets are near .500 and they play Atlanta next...they can gain some ground if they win....The team has potential, but the fans are not buying into it. We just smile when they win but hope is all for the next season. No one truly believes that the Mets can get to the playoffs. But as a die hard fan, I'll watch every game as much as I can, hoping that a miracle will be played out this season. The fact that the team has not had a grand slam for almost two years, is shocking. I wait for that day when they break the grand slam slump. Anyway, the Mets aer not too far out at this time. We shouldn't count them out unless they are more than 10 games behind in September...

Hangin' In There
As a Mets fan, you better have the strength to take on the losses because luck is not on their side. Before the Mets faced the Yankees, there was a glimmer of hope for the season. But then, they're free falling once again. I will accept close games in which they lose, but to lose with errors, sloppiness, and basically just stinkin'....I don't know what to make of this team. I really do despise how Fred Wilpon lashed out at Reyes, Beltran, and Wright. They have to go! The Coupon Wilpons HAVE TO GO! I really don't want this team to be the butt of all jokes. Every game is like a defining moment of the Mets season. People have thrown in the towel since Easter and there's not one person that I know...that have faith in the team. Why should anyone? I love baseball and I love when an underdog team proves everyone wrong. I want the Mets to be that team. I even told myself, when the season started...if they make the postseason, that would actually make me happy, even if they don't go all the way. Getting to the postseason would mean that they give the fans something to cheer about. I mean if I was on the team, I'd want to get traded so that I'd have a chance to win. The Mets are still "figuring out" who plays what position when someone gets injured.I'm hangin' in there as a fan and perhaps, it's just time to accept that this year, it's a whole year of spring training and if they get anywhere near the postseason, no one would've believed it and it would take a miracle. It would be the ultimate shock...a dream I would wake up from. Ah wellz.

Bay, FMart, DWright, Pretty Pridie! A Win!
This is what I'm talking about! The past two series, they won 2 of 3, that's all I hope for. Mets did a good job tonight of rallying and hitting those homers. Gee didn't look good tonight, but sometimes the offense have to produce to win games. They did just that. Ike's absence brings out the call-ups/bench players and we need those guys to be consistent even if they're not playing. We need them to be ready to step up when our crucial guys are injured. Just saw the repeat of DWright's HR and man do you see his tongue out as he runs the bases. Heheh. But Bay really started it up. He seems to really pick up his slack that is owed to us! When I least expect it, guys like Pridie and Turner get those insurance runs. The Mets are forming the team that will fight every naysayer and opposing team, and they're not giving up. True fans are right by their side. KRod has been consistent with closing out games. As long as he stays out of trouble and continues pitching the way he always had... I know that there are rumors about trades, but I truly think that the team we have now is capable of winning a championship. If the guys are in their talented mode without injury, they're really talented, but their timing is never synchronized and I hate that because it's why they lose games. If we had 5 reliable pitchers, this team would make it to the end. This year, I really believed in Pelfrey and Dickey to be our prized starters before the return of Santana. But right now, we're relying on several pitchers who I truthfully cannot rely on. They're not consistent. I feel like all the team needs is the series win, not necessarily sweeping every team. If they can beat the bad teams and get 2 of 3 from the good teams, for the next few weeks, they'll regain their confidence and their fans back. There's still a lot of doubt and disappointed fans. I'm optimistic and I will continue to watch even if it hurts. I'm a baseball fan and watching my Mets is my way of life. I just have to keep believing in them when no one else can, because if anything, they'll have me as a fan.

Signs of Life
Perhaps, not getting swept by the Phillies is a good sign for the Mets. I know how much potential the Mets have. Look how many batters were left on base last night. They can hit, they can fight til the 14th inning and they can win, when news break out and fans in Philly cheer USA...the Mets win was for NY and this is a day, a moment, a game that everyone will remember because it was on ESPN, the special 8pm night game on Sunday. It was nationally televised and the U.S. saw the Mets win. I know the Mets' winning streak stopped at 6, and they had a 3 game losing streak, but it was cut short by a game that probably didn't matter to anyone but Mets fans that still cared. Between flipping the channels to watch Obama speak and opening my eyes to see if the ball went over the fence or on the ground when the Philthies batted, I felt it in my heart. Any jolt of energy is needed for the Mets to win. I know that yesterday's news are "more important" than baseball or any tv show. But news is just news. We all react differently and nothing has changed for us people at home watching the tv sets. Time will pass and the Royal wedding seemed like it was a few weeks ago. Unless you're personally tied and affected to the death news of a wanted terrorist aka Osama bin Laden, your life has not changed because the world has issues beyond what the media portrays. People speak out their opinions on twitter, fb, blogs, etc. I'm just kinda surprised that people like to complain about raw emotion when they have a different opinion. The world is so diverse and complex. Why is there only one way of thought? There isn't. We all have opinions and no matter how hard it is to understand another person for whatever they believe in, I think disagreements/arguments are inevitable. Like for me, I love my NY Mets. You all may think and feel whatever you want and I'll be the oddball. Why is it in people's nature to manipulate another person to believe the popular belief? I think everyone is entitled to their own view on everything. There's no right/wrong of believing. Respect and understanding is another issue. But I accept that everyone is different. I choose whether or not to agree/disagree. Anyway, I'm getting off topic, but the purpose of my entry tonight was to state that the Mets had a really rocky start this year. But even though they lost to the Philthies 2 of 3 this series, I really feel optimistic that the team is starting to turn a corner. Cuz I believe in them. There are signs of life and I'm right by their side.

When You Hit Rockbottom, You Just Pick Up the Pieces
When the Mets were losing terribly earlier this month, everyone were bashing how this season was over. I continued watching every game. They're on a 6* game winning streak and they're fighting each and every team. The return of Jason Bay, and Collins getting ejected, pumped so much energy to the Mets. Tonight, they were down by a run, in the 9th. They put up 4 runs despite some sloppy defense in the bottom of the 8th. I have always been a Daniel Murphy fan since his behind the back throw to Parnell. I never thought that he'd have a hot streak like he's having now. I never thought he would play 2nd base. I always thought of him as a backup outfielder who would inevitably be traded and never be known as a Met. But he's making his statement now. He's fighting for a permanent spot on the Roster. He's proving himself that he wants to play and that he's gonna do whatever it takes to be on the team. That's dedication and passion. He's talented, given that he can play outfield, infield... the Mets need guys like Murphy. He can be a good 2nd baseman if he is given the chance. I'm optimistic about the Mets. Every fan wants the team to prove everyone in the world wrong. I hope they do because I believe in miracles. I mean when Reyes was called out at 3rd, by the umpire, I knew karma would bite the Nats in the rear end. I mean it's the ump's fault, but if Reyes was safe and Murphy hit that HR, it would've been a different score. I guess bad calls like that will happen and there's no argument that would make them backtrack unless it's a HR review play. Nevertheless, the Mets win in the 9th, when all is said and done. They pack on the runs and I won't complain. Whatever they're doing, it's working. I don't want the winning streak to end. They're giving us something to believe in and I hope they keep on trucking. What we need is our starting pitchers to go about 7 innings and the bullpen can work on the rest. Of course, the offense can work on consistent hitting and better defense. Next up, getting a grand slam cuz we all know that's overdue!

Wake Up Call
I remember last season, when we were in 2nd place (prior to Beltran's return/Bay's departure) and the team that I saw on tv and at Citi were synchronized and had that flow of energy. This was before the All Star Break. They were playing .500 baseball, but they had a team dynamic. I was very confident that they could play like this for the rest of the season and make it to the postseason. But all hell broke loose. I remember my trip to SF was a nightmare (first night in SF, I caught the Mets-Giants game) and they lost. They went on to lose to SF and Dodgers on the road. It was the downward spiral...Beltran returned and nothing about the team was the same. The team couldn't readjust to their first half momentum. Mets fans abandoned the team, the game, Citi Field and everything Mets. We all knew what had to be done. Get rid of Jerry Manuel, Omar Minaya, Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo. Get some big name pitcher in the offseason <--epic, fail. Get a 2nd baseman <--fail. We got what we wanted: replacement for the front office and the cancerous duo, Perez and Castillo. But what does this get us? Sandy Alderson, Terry Collins and a deflated start to the Mets season with disappointed fans that vow they will never come to Citi Field to see the team play until they started winning. So, as you can see, the Mets win 9-1, when Collins get ejected early in the game for arguing with the umpire about a strikeout (that Nickeas caught, never touching the ground) but the umpire said the ball hit the ground. I think it's the best thing to happen. To see how this team plays without Collins managing. Well, Nickeas hit his first major league homer, Wright breaks out of his slump, players 3-9 all got hits. Bay hits what appears to be an inside the park home run (error on Hunter Pence who couldn't catch it). This win comes from Capuano! Out of all our starting pitchers, I admire Capuano and Young. We need every win that we can get.
This morning, I looked at my Mets scarf hanging in my room. I thought to myself, I wear this everyday, showing my pride. But what should I be proud of? I wore it anyway. Then, before I left work at the end of the day, my colleague said to me, Hey you are wearing a Mets scarf, perhaps, they'll start winning. Then I said, I wear it everyday!. He proceeded to say, Perhaps you should tie it tighter. I gasped and broke out laughing. What would this day be, without my scarf. I guess I should tie it tighter.
I was reading some posts about the Mets, when I came across a link that said that the team is wearing spring training outfits underneath their uniform. I find it funny that they're superstitious, but for whatever reason, it worked. So what's up with Bay returning and Pagan leaving the game? Somebody wants to play center field...why can't Beltran, Bay and Pagan be healthy all at once! And our infield be Wright, Reyes, Murphy and Davis...We just need solid pitching and then we're good. Ha. Easier said than done. 2nd base is always questionable. One thing I like about Murphy is what I remember him by. When he made that awesome defensive play in 2009 against the Dodgers when he threw a behind the back throw to Parnell who covered first base. I think if he gets regular playing time, he can become good. He can be an outfielder, and infielder...you name it, he has the abilities, just give him a chance.
Anyway, all I wanted to say is that I hope this win gets the Mets rolling. I hope they get fans excited again. It's depressing to see empty seats at Citi and when the team is broke, winning can solve the issue.

Refined Energy?
Ah, my fellow Mets fans. The past two games reminded all of us die hard fans that we have a tough road ahead of us. Ok, Wednesday night wasn't THAT bad, I mean we tied it 7-7! It proves that the Mets have a fighting chance and that they can catch up this early in the season as well. Those Philthies and their pitchers. ARGH, we will get them. I hope that those pitchers all break an arm or something. They cannot run away with the NL East this year. I need to see non-Phils games to see if the Mets are doomed. It's really important to see how they fare against other teams. And Pelfrey? He better find his groove or we would need another starter. I'm afraid for him. I mean he was our guy last year...I know that this is definitely a different year and I feel a different approach to this season. I'm actually surprised to see a lot of Mets gear out in the streets. I'm glad. It's important to win series against good teams and bad teams. I want the team to shock the world and shut everyone up. I'm sick and tired of those that doubt and those that bash. Mets fans are allowed to grieve but you can't diss them out as if they are a team you hate. Anyway, I believe. I know they have all the talent there is to make up a championship team. I know it. But they have to figure out that formula. I understood that the formula worked the first half of last season, but for some reason, Beltran came back and they lost it, that groove, and everything went downhill from there. Now they say that Beltran's presence provide the others energy to get these hits. Hmm, I don't know...but whatever works, I hope that everyone stays healthy and hits consistently. No dry spells, Mr. Wright. You're the face of the franchise, have the best year you can ever have and make every Mets fan believe once again. There's talk about Reyes leaving and personally, I don't like that idea, because I saw him from the start and met him in person. He's gonna do great on some other team and I'd hate to see him go against us if his future team plays us. It'd be awkward. Like hey, you used to run like the wind for us and now you're running against us, flying for that team. It's just not right. Wright and Reyes should be lifelong Mets, in my opinion. Anyway, I hope that we do well for the first half and do way better the second half. We need the postseason and we need that refined energy to release itself. Any Mets fan would rejoice. Anyway, that's all I have for you today. Tomorrow is Opening Day for the Mets at HOME! Yay! I'm super happy that they're home and I hope all goes well. :) Lets Go Mets!

Excited For the Mets Season To Begin!
Fittingly enough, it's April Fools tomorrow and the season for the Mets will begin! There's essentially no expectations from the team...the fans are utterly disappointed and most have no faith in something happening this year. Nevertheless, inside each true fan's heart is that small ounce of hope that the team will prove something to us fans. We want to be contenders in the postseason. We just need an appearance. No one but true fans will stick by even if they don't make it. It's terrible that there's no optimism whatsoever. We have ads on trains that diss out the team, we have Fox 5 parading the Yankees opener, belittling the Mets... I'll always defend the Mets to anyone that disses them out. I may have moments of denial, delusion and hopelessness, but I will stay true blue and orange. I'm gonna always be outnumbered in NY. I think it's a joke that they claim the Yanks are underdogs this year. That is a flat out lie. The Yanks are NEVER the underdogs. Give me a break! They don't know what underdog means. Who cares if Boston have a better lineup/offseason to acquire the players they need? How much do you want to bet that the Yanks will make the postseason? Even if it is the wild card. If they have doubt or worry or lose sleep thinking that they will have to work hard to get to the postseason, I'd laugh. I have no sympathy for the Yankees or their fans. Ever. My motto is, ANY team, but the Yanks. Lets Go Mets!

Good Riddance!
Alas! The cancerous duo of the Mets are GONE! Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo are DONE. Mets fans rejoice! Those darn Phillies can have Castillo and the Yanks are welcomed to have Perez. No love loss there. I'm excited for the Mets, FINALLY! They have to take out the garbage before starting on a clean slate. As much doubt there is this offseason about the Mets, I think MGMT is heading in the right direction. :) No matter how long it takes to fix this team, I'm here for them through the thick and thin.

Mets, Jets, Knicks: I Believe.
I'm a Mets fan because the philosophy of the team is Ya Gotta Believe. Every Mets fan want to believe in this philosophy and at the current state... there's a lot of doubt about this team. In my life, I have the same philosophy... to believe in something, even when there's doubt. I live my life hanging onto hope and believe that when you work hard at putting pieces of a puzzle together, you solve it. I believe that in life, and I believe that in my Mets. An untrue Mets fan would have given up long ago. When you betray your own team and devote yourself to another team, there's no allegiance. If you're a true fan, you cannot depart yourself from the reality and the attachment to that one team. Sometimes it's a love/hate relationship. You can't stand losing, but you still have some hope left. I must admit that I was a hardcore Knicks fan of the 90s and I was just a kid. But when baseball entered my life in the 2000s, I dropkicked the Knicks to the curb and never paid any attention to how they were doing. They got rid of my favorite players: Houston, Sprewell, Starks, Ewing...amongst others... It wasn't the same... But falling in love with the Mets, I don't regret it one bit. I can't depart from them ever. At least I hope not. I'm a Piazza/Ventura fan and I'll always remember this is the era that I started out with. The Wright and Reyes era as well. At least now, I can say, these men are my generation type of players and it's pretty cool to witness their talents. The only bad thing about this is that these Mets had disappointing meltdowns for the past 4 seasons and I'll have to tell this story to my children one day and unless they win soon, it will definitely leave a dent in my heart and remain as a bad memory. I know that if the Mets win a championship in the near future, I'll definitely cry tears of happiness and it'll make me so happy beyond belief...When LeBron made his televised DECISION, I was hopeful. I even stated that I'll pay attention to Knicks basketball. But he opted for the Heat and Stoudemire signed on. I never even heard of him, only that he was good...I saw ads and suddenly he became the face of the Knicks. I became a born-again Knicks fan only because my cousin wanted so badly to go to a game when he visited NYC. I began watching more Knicks games on tv and I kept an eye on my Knicks more so this year than I have had in the past 10 years. When rumors surfaced about Carmelo, I didn't think it was possible to obtain him. I thought Gallo would stay cuz I just became a fan of him. Those games counted. The Knicks were contenders pre-Carmelo. But I knew they weren't good enough, just yet. Then, it was done. Carmelo made the Knicks seem like a guarantee. Billups, that guy!!! I remember him from my Michigan State days...when my roommates and fellow Spartans would watch Pistons games. Melo and Billups joining the Knicks and we got rid of Gallo. Ah, whatever. Just make this a formula to WIN. I'm not so into the Knicks as I was before. I usually have one player to root for and he'd be my favorite. 90s Knicks, I had several favorites and I loved their group dynamic. I don't want to be a bandwagon fan. The Knicks just have to grow on me. As of now, I like Landry Fields. Is that a joke? Nope. For me to actually feel happy for a team to win, I'd have to respect the players and their gameplay. It wouldn't feel right to me if the Knicks win this year. I would be happy for them, but I wasn't there for them the entire time. It would just be me celebrating the win for the team name, the Knicks...but I wasn't being the diehard fan. I only feel that diehard feeling for the Mets. That's why I would cry because I know what they go through and as a fan, I go through each loss and each win. That's what I call a true fan. Knowing how much it hurts to not win. Even though I am not a diehard Knicks fan, I want that feeling again, to believe in them and feel each win and each loss. The JETS are a different story. I dedicated myself to the team in 2000? when the Giants lost to the Ravens. I was not feeling myself as a Giants fan, though I did root for them and I did feel bad that they lost that year. I felt the Titans loss that year against the Rams. The strangest thing is that when the Titans lost, I shed a few tears because it was an upset. One yard! Anyway, I kinda grew up with Jets fans and my fave color is green and they rhyme with the Mets. So yea, I've started watching games with Pennington as QB...and Sanchez now, is a major reason why the Jets are real contenders. I see so much potential with this team and I want Sanchez to get the Jets to the Super Bowl and win it. I only ask for ONE because I watch football and I don't know football as much as I do baseball, but I know that the only reason why is because in football there is 16 games in a regular season as opposed to the 162 in baseball. I only get 16 Sundays/Mondays/Thursdays to watch my Jets and I can't see all of them. I consider myself a fan because I know what goes on in football and I understand the anxiety that goes on in each game. Each win and loss is important. In baseball, sometimes one or two losses may not make a huge difference, but sometimes it's a dealbreaker for postseason berth. Trust me, I know it. I never expected myself to feel this way about sports. I mean when people say, it's just a game...it ticks me off because yes, sure it is. But no, there's a passion about following sports. It brings me back to reality. Following sports, is following a philosophy in life. You put yourself in a position to go through something that is intangible. These feelings for a team, these beliefs and the time spent...why do you do this to yourself? Well it's my philosophy in life. You live life as if you are playing this game. You give it your all, you put your passion into it and you do all you can. You may not see hitting a ball with a bat as living your life with passion...but for me, the philosophy is just that...you work together with people who all want the same thing, and you're coached/given advice all the way through. It guides you to the ultimate goal, and you work hard at it and if you get there, your hard work pays off. I may be just watching baseball and believing in a team to do well. My philosophy doesn't go down the drain when the team loses... You believe, you dedicate yourself to that team, and you don't give up. That's the philosophy. In my life, it's the same. You dedicate yourself to your dreams, your goals, you don't give up and you may doubt yourself, but you keep going. When people support you, your confidence grows. I will always be there for my Mets and even though it's "just" a game, I treat it as if it is a religion. I did not mention NY Rangers hockey in the above rant because I'm not a true fan of hockey, but I'm supportive of the Rangers. I've watched Sabres vs Islanders playoff hockey, and realize that all three NY teams are worth rooting for. But in choosing, Rangers are the team I'd ultimately pick if I had to. I have yet to draw myself to this sport and pledge my allegiance to it. Anyway, that's all I have for today. Lastly, I look forward to the Mets season and I hope they do well this year. The fans deserve it and I want to attend more games. :)

Can I Buy The Mets?
So as you all know, the Mets need someone to buy the ballclub. The Wilpons are selling a supposed 25% of the team, but they may end up selling the team entirely. I just hope that whoever buys the team keeps the team in NY. I would have a meltdown if my Mets were to relocate to another city. I hope whoever buys the team, have the best interest for the Mets. I think if Donald Trump buys the team, he'll run it like a business and he most definitely will not relocate the team, he's a New Yorker. He'll fire people left and right, though, haha.
Anyway, I look forward to Spring Training! and the Season! New Year, Same Team, New Mgmt, I wonder what will happen...

Shape Up or Ship Out
In all honesty, there haven't been much of a big splash on the Mets this offseason. But I do have the confidence that the team is in better shape and form than last autumn. I do believe that the team is stronger than before. I have hope that this season is the comeback year. It would be of great disappointment if the team brings same results as the past few years. I want revamped, hungry Mets team. I want the postseason and I want them to fight tooth and nail. The fans, such as myself, have suffered a great deal of ridicule and disappointment. It's going to be tough since the Mets are in the same division as those Philthies. I just hope that our players are healthy and clutch. Anyway, I am excited for spring training and when the season begins...I can't wait!

Donating Blood at Citi Field
I can't believe how incredibly ungrateful people are about an opportunity for free tickets to a Mets game! Citi Field is holding a blood drive this upcoming Thursday and fans of all sorts have the audacity to complain. Some say they won't give their blood to a team that has disappointed them for the past several seasons. Gosh, are you kidding me? Since when do you think that your blood is going to ANY particular Mets player? Citi Field is holding a blood drive because the NY Blood Center has locations everywhere and an incentive is to provide free pairs of tickets to people who donate blood. It's for a good cause. FYI, I donate my blood about 3 times a year at my workplace whenever they hold it. Guess what? We only get Oreos, Cheez Itz, apple juice, water, random crackers, and chewy granola bars! We don't get free tickets to Mets games! Thus, people should be grateful that Citi Field is holding such an event. Also, not only do we get a pair of tickets, we get to access the Caesar's Club area! I've been there once, on a Citi Field tour...it was nice. Any fan that buys Promenade level seats should be grateful that you get to access this area. So yes, this Thursday, I'm super-excited to donate my blood at Citi Field. The fact that the Mets provided the incentive of tickets, is reason enough to be grateful. Don't associate your blood giving with the Mets season. If you think about it rationally...giving blood is a good cause. All the blood units go to the NY Blood Center and you can save a life or two! The Mets do not get anything out of this. You get a pair of tickets to a game and if you are to complain, just complain about how it's on a Thursday and not a weekend day.
