I can't believe how incredibly ungrateful people are about an opportunity for free tickets to a Mets game! Citi Field is holding a blood drive this upcoming Thursday and fans of all sorts have the audacity to complain. Some say they won't give their blood to a team that has disappointed them for the past several seasons. Gosh, are you kidding me? Since when do you think that your blood is going to ANY particular Mets player? Citi Field is holding a blood drive because the NY Blood Center has locations everywhere and an incentive is to provide free pairs of tickets to people who donate blood. It's for a good cause. FYI, I donate my blood about 3 times a year at my workplace whenever they hold it. Guess what? We only get Oreos, Cheez Itz, apple juice, water, random crackers, and chewy granola bars! We don't get free tickets to Mets games! Thus, people should be grateful that Citi Field is holding such an event. Also, not only do we get a pair of tickets, we get to access the Caesar's Club area! I've been there once, on a Citi Field tour...it was nice. Any fan that buys Promenade level seats should be grateful that you get to access this area. So yes, this Thursday, I'm super-excited to donate my blood at Citi Field. The fact that the Mets provided the incentive of tickets, is reason enough to be grateful. Don't associate your blood giving with the Mets season. If you think about it rationally...giving blood is a good cause. All the blood units go to the NY Blood Center and you can save a life or two! The Mets do not get anything out of this. You get a pair of tickets to a game and if you are to complain, just complain about how it's on a Thursday and not a weekend day.
