It's Over , But In Our Hearts, We Don't Want It To Be

Since Murphy & Reyes got placed in the DL, all hell has broke loose and there's not a chance at all for the Mets to make the postseason. You have to really be delusional to think that all the wild card teams ahead of the Mets will lose at the same time and the Mets will go on a 20 game winning streak. If that happens, I'm probably the biggest doubter in my Mets. Face it fans, revamp and you'll get a good team in a few years...I think we have the right manager...we just need a consistent bullpen, starting pitcher and work on our lineup...I think the infield and outfield are all very talented and will only get better...but you have to have good pitching to win ballgames. Today's rally was really impressive especially down 7-1, but our pitching at the end, lost it for us. Every game counts and having a 2 run lead, with 3 outs to win...that shouldn't be hard. I mean if you give have the bases loaded, then you're in trouble. What hurts is that K-Rod, a Brewer now...got the win. This really spells the end for the Mets. No one cares to watch anymore. They stopped believing when Reyes was hurt. This year is supposed to be the year that we turn things around, I mean injuries are bound to happen, whether short term or long term. But they had the players. Look what happened this year: Beltran traded, K-Rod traded, we lose Ike & Murphy to the DL, Reyes proved himself to be superb...though he's now on the DL...Wright was out for awhile. I think the bullpen needs an upgrade and we need to get rid of Pelfrey. Pelfrey was the second best pitcher behind Santana (in my opinion), but this year, he just sucked and never found his old self. I'm disappointed because I really think he could have turned things around. I look forward to see what will happen in the offseason. I want to believe in this team and be excited for them. I really do, but it's been a long 5 years since the Mets had a good year. It's time that I focus on my Jets. :)

Throwing In The Towel After Murphy's Incident

My heart for the Mets collapsed when I heard that Daniel Murphy was OUT for the rest of the season. A thump in my heart and I felt it. I threw in the towel and said...the SEASON is OVER. Reyes got hurt and he'll be out again. If he was the one out for the rest of the season, it'd be automatically over...but there's still hope that he'd return soon. What hope is there left? Tonight, I saw a glimmer of hope, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Mets won in dramatic fashion as they beat the Padres, 9-8. Down 4 runs in the bottom of the8th...they scored 2runs, then bottom of the 9th, 3 more runs score, and they win it. They fought and hit. If I turned off the tv because I didn't believe 4+ runs would score in the 8th and 9th, then I'm not a believer. I patiently waited...the hits kept coming and the runs piled on. I still may think the season is lost and gone, but every win counts. I think the more they work together, the better the team will be in the upcoming years. But they have to have that team dynamic to win and I saw it tonight. I hope that the Mets give it all for the rest of this season and that they give the wild card teams a run for their money. LOL. I'd like to see the Mets eliminate other teams by simply winning. I'd be flabbergasted if they win the Wild Card. It's a stretch, but they'd have to really go on a win streak, ASAP.  :)
