Earlier this week, I've gotten the chance to witness Jose Reyes return to the team on his first game back and I've gotten to witness Angel Pagan's FIRST walkoff HR of his career. It is simply amazing to attend back to back games where my Mets won because they fought through the tough spots. Tonight, or much rather Friday night, David Wright returns to the team, in the Marlins game. The game was long and the score kept going back and forth, get a lead, get tied, get a lead, get tied...then finally, Pridie saves the day by catching a popup way deep in the outfield near the warning track wall and seals the game's 3rd out. Wright, can truly become powerful if he produces the hits we expect him to. We want Wright to be Beltran. We need him to hit the HRs and be that guy who leads the team into the postseason. I'm hesitant about trading any Met because if MONEY wasn't an issue, we'd wouldn't be so fast to give out the BIG GUYS that were BIG DEALS back in the day. We got rid of KROD, which I think was wrong because if he was great elsewhere, he can be great again. The fans trusted him to do the job. Sometimes, KROD did not produce the pitches BUT he still was "our closer." Only now, he's not. The fact that I don't trust the Mets BULLPEN, is reason to doubt the chance...I feel that if Beltran gets traded, the Mets need a reliable closer, someone that will close out games and is capable of pitching 2+ innings. Anywho, I'm glad that BOTH Reyes and Wright are back on the team and I wait so anxiously in regards to how they will be great as they were in 2006. I wanna see Triple Threat Reyes play with well rested David Wright. If Ike Davis is out for the season, I see the positives. Daniel Murphy surprises us with defense and offense. He is most definitely deserving of being the starting first baseman. I wanna see him hit more HRs than anyone on the team, like he did that one year...was it injury year? Anyheck, HRs are nice insurance run(s), and it would be ideal for the team to start hitting those. Anyways, the Mets are still in 3rd place, and could easily catch up to the Wild Card spot if they win more consecutively. :)

Midway Point
My Mets are playing .500 ball and they're 3rd place in the NL East. It's midway through the season and there's progress. I wonder if the Mets can pull this off and give us the fans, a postseason berth. I know it's a Mets' fan's dream come true to see them get IN. I know it's been a real tough 5 years since our last good* year. Everything I say on these blogs are in the moment emotions. Every time I read the previous entry, I always feel different in the current entry. You have to understand the rollercoaster rides that Mets fans go through. It's a tough ride but loyal and true fans ride it out. :)
