The Mets Need To Fix Something, But I'm Not Sure What.

Sure enough, the young guys are proving themselves this month and if August was erased, I think the Mets could have made the postseason! Every year since 2007, I've watch my Mets and I'd think it's one reason why they flop...overconfidence before September...and now, August was the flop month. They had a decent first half, but everything fell apart from Beltran's return. I'm still struggling to figure out why my team disappoints...and to think that Frenchy has a chance to win the WS, well that's just too funny. I liked Frenchy and boy, he wanted out, he got it. I'm not sure if Texas would be WS champs, but if they do become the champs, I'd be thinking, Frenchy got lucky! I wonder what Wright and Reyes are thinking...they have been on the team for like 6 years and they had a great 2006...but something about the Wright-Reyes combo changed...they used to be the stars of the team and they were my faves back then. But as they grew older, they probably got too confident. Don't get me wrong, but Wright gets his homers and hits and stellar seasons, but for me it's like I see him striking out a lot and he doesn't pull through when the team needs him to. He has these dry hit spells and I don't see his spark as much anymore. Reyes continues to run like the wind, and it's like only when he gets on base, the others follow suit. The team can't depend on just him to get on base, and steal some bases...he's essential in our lineup, but I'd like to see others back him up, or run as fast as him. The young guys often have surprises for us fans and I don't expect a whole lot out of them, but when they do get those crucial game winning hits, it makes me feel better. I want the offseason to be here already, though I will miss watching my Mets games after work...But I'll have my Jets to watch. Anyway, back to the subject...The Mets lack consistency throughout the team. I would like to see a team dynamic and a group effort next season and I hope that at least they can make it to the postseason to provide us fans with hope, cuz it's tough to be one game away from the WS and lose that game...and then not ever return to the postseason for the fourth year. It sucks and I hope that I see a great team next year.

Baseball is STILL going on?

I've been neglecting the Mets for the past two weeks. It's pointless now and I'm hopeful that the offseason will look better. I absolutely do not want two teams to win, Yanks and Phils. Everyone else is fair game...So I leave you with this short post...

The 18 Runs Against Those Cubs

Ah, the last game of the 3 game series and the Mets pound the Cubs to a pulp, all for nothing. Without Wright in the lineup, the Mets did more than ok. I'm impressed that without an All-Star lineup, they can HIT! I don't know what is the problem this year, it's unexplainable. How can you explain this thrust of energy on a meaningless game? So now what? They're gonna revamp the lineup for next year, right now? And what happens if the All-Star players decide that they're not gonna be injured and they want to play? I don't know what it is, but perhaps the Mets should go with what they have and get rid of the older veteran players. This team is definitely rebuilding now and they need solid players. 4 years of meltdowns...I've had enough. I thought that the Wright and Reyes era was gonna bring the team to an amazing win streak into the postseason, but it's like there's no hunger anymore. It's great to have games like yesterday, that remind you of great times, but it will only happen once in a blue moon. It's laughable that the Mets can hit with two outs and still not have a grand slam when they have hit for 18 runs and 21 hits. I'd like to see them win these games for the remainder of the season. I don't care for the postseason anymore. I want them to end on a positive note. I want them to give us fans some hope in the offseason. I want this team to spoil a particular team's chance into the postseaon. I want them to realize that it's a privilege to play for NY and the fans. It's a big stage and they have to do better to win our hearts.
