Fittingly enough, it's April Fools tomorrow and the season for the Mets will begin! There's essentially no expectations from the team...the fans are utterly disappointed and most have no faith in something happening this year. Nevertheless, inside each true fan's heart is that small ounce of hope that the team will prove something to us fans. We want to be contenders in the postseason. We just need an appearance. No one but true fans will stick by even if they don't make it. It's terrible that there's no optimism whatsoever. We have ads on trains that diss out the team, we have Fox 5 parading the Yankees opener, belittling the Mets... I'll always defend the Mets to anyone that disses them out. I may have moments of denial, delusion and hopelessness, but I will stay true blue and orange. I'm gonna always be outnumbered in NY. I think it's a joke that they claim the Yanks are underdogs this year. That is a flat out lie. The Yanks are NEVER the underdogs. Give me a break! They don't know what underdog means. Who cares if Boston have a better lineup/offseason to acquire the players they need? How much do you want to bet that the Yanks will make the postseason? Even if it is the wild card. If they have doubt or worry or lose sleep thinking that they will have to work hard to get to the postseason, I'd laugh. I have no sympathy for the Yankees or their fans. Ever. My motto is, ANY team, but the Yanks. Lets Go Mets!
