When You Hit Rockbottom, You Just Pick Up the Pieces

When the Mets were losing terribly earlier this month, everyone were bashing how this season was over. I continued watching every game. They're on a 6* game winning streak and they're fighting each and every team. The return of Jason Bay, and Collins getting ejected, pumped so much energy to the Mets. Tonight, they were down by a run, in the 9th. They put up 4 runs despite some sloppy defense in the bottom of the 8th. I have always been a Daniel Murphy fan since his behind the back throw to Parnell. I never thought that he'd have a hot streak like he's having now. I never thought he would play 2nd base. I always thought of him as a backup outfielder who would inevitably be traded and never be known as a Met. But he's making his statement now. He's fighting for a permanent spot on the Roster. He's proving himself that he wants to play and that he's gonna do whatever it takes to be on the team. That's dedication and passion. He's talented, given that he can play outfield, infield... the Mets need guys like Murphy. He can be a good 2nd baseman if he is given the chance. I'm optimistic about the Mets. Every fan wants the team to prove everyone in the world wrong. I hope they do because I believe in miracles. I mean when Reyes was called out at 3rd, by the umpire, I knew karma would bite  the Nats in the rear end. I mean it's the ump's fault, but if Reyes was safe and Murphy hit that HR, it would've been a different score. I guess bad calls like that will happen and there's no argument that would make them backtrack unless it's a HR review play. Nevertheless, the Mets win in the 9th, when all is said and done. They pack on the runs and I won't complain. Whatever they're doing, it's working. I don't want the winning streak to end. They're giving us something to believe in and I hope they keep on trucking. What we need is our starting pitchers to go about 7 innings and the bullpen can work on the rest. Of course, the offense can work on consistent hitting and better defense. Next up, getting a grand slam cuz we all know that's overdue!
