Frenchy May Go To The World Series
Exhale, Mets fans! There is one more game for the Texas Rangers to play in order to get to the World Series. Wow! Texas bats are HOT. They have more than 5 runs per game, this series, thus far. If they win tomorrow, that is it. I, as a New Yorker and a Mets fan do not have to endure that obnoxiousness that comes from anything Yankee. I remember that moment I bought the Jeff Francoeur bobblehead. It was my last Mets game of the year and I was looking for his bobblehead at the team store...and knowing that it was on sale, I had a feeling that he was gonna get traded. All the way in the back of the store, I found it. There were only a few left and none were on display out front. It didn't matter. Frenchy may not have been a star player on the team...but he was a positive force in the clubhouse. As they said, he was a leader. Every time he came up to bat, I'd laugh because he has these wide opened eyes that gets wider when he prepares himself to hit. I'd laugh every time he came up to the plate. When word got out that he was going to the Texas Rangers, I was like, "aww." I looked at the standings and saw that Texas was on the top of their division. The thought that Jeff Francoeur was going to the playoffs had registered in my mind. Then I proceeded to think that he'd go on to win the World Series. Of course, he would have nothing to do with helping the team get to where they are now, one game away from the WS. He was stuck with the non-contending freefalling Mets. But that didn't matter, Jeff contributed to the team, more defensively than offensively for the Mets and now, he's on a team that has never been to the WS before. I am OK with the fact that the Texas Rangers would go to the WS cuz that means no parade, no taunts from coworkers, and just another year of baseball. However, if the Phils were to advance instead of the Giants, I'd be worried. But to see Texas play, I realize that they can produce a lot of runs...If the Giants and Rangers were to compete for the title, I'd relax, sit back and relax, cuz then it'd be a good year. I think I've officially jinxed Yankee Stadium, given the fact that the Boston Megabus passed by twice, to and from NYC/Boston. Cuz it resulted in two losses in a row. :) Anyway, that's baseball for you!
